Most of today’s HMIs and almost all consumer HMIs use electric motors.

Electric motors use direct current and the power source is a battery. 

The maintenance required by electric motors is relatively insignificant, they are characterized by high reliability that allows them to have a lifetime of more than 10,000 hours.

It is good to avoid any lubrication process of their moving parts to avoid creating unwanted problems.

As a precaution, the pilot should check before each flight that the motor is running smoothly and after each flight that its temperature is within the limits set by the manufacturer. Any finding of a higher than normal temperature is a signal that the motor should be checked by the engineer.

The propellers are the system that will convert the torque produced by the engines into a straight thrust called thrust. The operation of the propeller is based on the principles of the physics of wing operation.

The propellers most commonly used in SFEs are epoxy resin propellers that are enriched with fibreglass fibres or carbon fibres.

In multi-copter SFEs the propellers are mounted in pairs moving clockwise (CW clockwise) and counter-clockwise (CCW counter-clockwise).

Depending on the manufacturer, the propellers have a characteristic marking of their pitch.

As with any component, there are certain rules that govern the use of the propeller.

• Do not buy damaged propellers. A knock can result in the propeller breaking while operating, with tragic results.
• Avoid being inside the imaginary disc of a spinning propeller.
• Over time the propellers wear out or lose their balance. An unbalanced propeller, in addition to being dreaded to break, certainly creates destructive vibrations.
• Position the propellers correctly and make sure they are snapped into place.
• Hose that has been involved in a fall, it is good to replace.

Camera Gibal

The purpose of a Gibal is to compensate for the movements and vibrations of the drone during flight in order to keep the built-in or external camera stabilized. The result is a horizontal straight image without shaking. Fixed-wing SMEEs do not always have a Gimbal, but may have a fixed camera pointed downwards, depending on the purpose of the flight.

Night lighting

In order to improve the visibility of the drone flying at night, and in particular, to allow a person on the ground to easily distinguish the drone from the manned aircraft, the special strobe green light provided on your Semi-Aircraft must be activated. Otherwise, no night flight will be allowed to take place.
